A Life Fully Lived

Earl Cobb was born in 1932 on a sharecropper farm in North Carolina during the Great Depression. He came into the world in one of the hardest times in American history — and he has spent the nine decades since proving what Americans are made of.

He served his country in the Korean War, then built his life in Louisiana, where he lived for over 50 years. He raised a family, worked hard, and carried inside him all the stories that come from a life spent watching this country grow and change. In 2014 he moved to Mississippi.

He Started Writing Songs at 91

Three years ago — at 91 years old — Earl Cobb sat down and started writing songs. Nobody asked him to. Nobody expected it. He simply had something to say, and songs were the way he chose to say it.

Country songs about America. About life. About faith. About what it means to have watched this country face everything — depression, war, division, triumph — and keep standing. Every story was his own.

Earl always dreamed of having his songs heard by real people. That dream is finally coming true — thanks to a fellow veteran who believed in him.
